SCHEDULE / CAMP DATES Camper
*Campers applying, who are outside the age ranges, will be considered on an individual basis. Check in time for campers is between 8:30 & 11:30a.m. on Tuesday. Plan to spend at least 30 minutes checking in your camper. Please take advantage of this time to share important information about your camper with the nurse and his/her counselor. Check in times are staggered to prevent long wait periods. Please see below for your exact check in time: Camper last name beginning with letters A - H…………Check in time: 8:30-9:30 a.m. Camper last name beginning with letters J - R………….Check in time: 9:30-10:30 a.m. Camper last name beginning with letters S – Z…………Check in time: 11:00-11:30 am. Campers coming with a group home………………….Check in time: 10:30-11:00 am. The camp gates will not be open before 8:30 a.m. to ensure that we are ready for check in. Check out for campers is Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. The campers will perform in a talent show from 9:30-10:45 at the Pavilion. Please plan to attend the show; the campers look forward to this all week.
Due to the nature of the camp, Camp SMILE requires that all “over-night” volunteers be CPR/First Aid certified and that they attend a 3-day training session on working with individuals with disabilities prior to camp. Both of these are offered to volunteers at minimal to no cost at all. A CPR/First Aid class is offered on two different occasions for a minimal cost of $15.00. Both classes will be held at UCP of Mobile located at 3058 Dauphin Square Connector. If you have current CPR/First Aid certification, you need not take it again, simply mail in a copy of your certification.
Training check in is Thursday, June 24th from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Training will begin
Volunteers may sign up to work one, two, three or four sessions. The camp sessions are:
Each session, volunteers must arrive at camp on Monday no later than 5:00 p.m. and plan to stay until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
